Mansour Farah, founder of the Farah company, studied shirt design and manufacturing in New York City towards the start of the 20th century. Upon completing his studies in the early 1920's Farah set up a small factory in a shop in El Paso producing blue chambray shirts. Then in 1935 Farah expanded their range by moving into producing khaki work pants and shirts.
During the Second World War, Farah converted from producing civilian clothing to army gear and were subsequently awarded an army-navy E award. In the 1950's half of Farahs production was sold to JC Penney, Sears and Montgomery while the other half was sold under the Gold Farah label.
It wasn't until the 1970's that Farah reached the cult status it still holds today, and it happened here in the UK, particularly with the youth of the country. The original Farah slack made from the finest hopsack canvas became an instant hit with quality tailoring, stain resistant technology and a sleek slim cut the trouser was unique at the time of its release.

In the 1980's a womens line was launched and the Farah brand in general became a must have on terraces and at gigs throughout the UK, This trend and association with the music industry and musically driven fashion continued on into the 90's with Britpop bands such as Pulp adopting Farah and its vintage style. This also carried through to the following decade with bands such as the Strokes and Paulo Nutini.
In 2007 they launched their trend collection. Which ushered in the most recent big revival as you would expect with the quality and style of this vintage brand. Today with Farah Vintage collection, Farah celebrates this history and draws upon its heritage to bring you a range which is not only versatile and practical but has the slick, distinctive style synonymous with this iconic brand.
