Edwin was first came through the Tsunemi KK company in 1947 which then became Japans leading importers of American work wear and the denim industry. In 1961 Edwin started producing denim jeans. DENIM, letters reordered and with a little creativity, EDWIN was born. By the 1963 Edwin had produced the worlds heaviest denim jean, at (16-OZ). This jean by Edwin has left a mark in history as the denim which even after washing would stand up. Edwin also known to be to be the first to produce the Edwins renowned three-colour rainbow salvage denim, which today is stronger than ever. The rainbow salvage combines elements of western cultures elegantly with those from the eastern cultures. Edwin is one of a few denim brands who use hand-dying their cotton with natural Indigo. The Indigo is harvested in the region of Tokushima. The dye gives the Edwin denim natural and richer colours. In the 80s and 90s in New York, Tokyo and Berlin the Edwin slim tube jean was a must have for all the trendsetters on that time.
