Luke 1977 Designer Jeans
Created by Luke Roper ten years ago Luke 1977 has quickly become a recognised and respected brand with an ever increasing fan base. Born in Walsall and the son of a wedding dress maker, Luke was surrounded by the production process of clothes throughout his childhood, exposed to the cutting, sewing and pattern drafting during his day to day life. By the age of twelve Luke's interest in fashion and the production of clothing was soon becoming apparent. He was already well skilled with a sewing machine and with his fervent interest in the fashion world he began to develop and increase his skills and knowledge in the field. Throughout his time at school he begin to experiment with design and different ways of producing garments and by the age of just 15 he was already producing shirts for his friends and peers.
After leaving school Luke enrolled on a fashion course in his local college, demand for his shirts and trousers was increasing all the time. Then in 1997 Luke began studying a specialist menswear design degree at Central Saint Martins College of Fashion in London. During his time there he became absorbed with traditional tailoring techniques and began making suits. His reputation was growing and he was quickly becoming known for edgy, contemporary designs which were practical with his unique, quirky sense of humour.

Producing a clothing range which is smart, stylish and practical the Luke 1977 label is a brand for the modern man with jackets, shirts, sweatshirts, polos and knitwear offering a stylish but masculine apparel ideal for every different occasion. Still incorporating his humour and unusual details into the designs, with Luke 1977 Luke Roper makes a unique selection which is getting more and more derserved recognition. They recently won the coveted Drapers Young Fashion Brand of the Year Award in 2010, highlighting the brands increased standing and undeniable quality.
Luke 1977's popularity has also stretched to the world of celebrities. Soccer AM presenter Max Rushden can be seen wearing Luke 1977 gear most saturday mornings including the Red Neck knitwear and the Williams polo shirt. Steven Graham (Snatch, This is England, Boardwalk Empire) was also seen sporting Luke 1977 on the same orange couch. Other stars like Edgar Davids, Nani, Frankie Gavin and the Hoosiers are just some of the many famous people wearing this exciting British brand.
