Fred Perry, iconic and timeless was created in the late 1940s and was the first British heritage brand to successfully blend sportswear with streetwear creating some of the most iconic styles of the last century with the ethos of authenticity, integrity and attitude.
In 1952 they launched the slim fit cotton pique polo shirt with Laurel Wreath embroidery. The wreath logo was initially worn by Fred Perry on touring blazers and Davis Cup sweaters since winning the Wimbledon crown back in 1934. Fred Perry first had to get a release and permission to use the wreath from the All England Tennis Club before using it on his clothing and in the process making it one of the most recognizable and timeless logos in the world today.
The Fred Perry Footwear range was set up as the brand expanded their range to different areas of fashion and references the heritage of the Fred Perry label and the same quality and style found in their trusted clothing range can be found in every part of their footwear range. They cite 1980's sportswear as a major source of inspiration as they create a contemporary reworking of classic archive styles to produce clean, modern classic designs for todays market. Designs such as the Croker or Dobie have quickly become classics in their own right with quality materials expertely crafted into fine, comfortable footwear.
